The Science

How Peptide Signaling Works, Step By Step

Most signaling peptides act through the same sequence of events at the cell. Researchers pick a compound by the step they want to study in vitro. For laboratory research use only, not for human or animal consumption.

  1. 01

    Binding

A peptide ligand reaches the cell surface and binds a receptor whose pocket matches its shape and charge. Assays report how tightly it binds as an affinity constant.

  2. 02

    Signal Transduction

The bound receptor changes shape and activates partners inside the cell, such as G proteins or kinases, which pass the signal on through second messengers.

    Studied here: BPC-157

  3. 03

    Cytoskeletal Response

Downstream kinases reorganise actin filaments, the scaffold that sets cell shape and lets cultured cells move across a dish.

    Studied here: TB-500

  4. 04

    Gene Expression

Some signals reach the nucleus and change which genes are transcribed, the readout many in vitro studies measure.

    Studied here: BPC-157, GHK-Cu

The Science

How Peptides Work In Signaling Research

Peptides are short chains of amino acids, joined end to end by peptide bonds. Many act as signaling molecules: they bind receptors on or inside cells and switch signaling pathways on or off. Research peptides let scientists study those pathways one at a time in laboratory models. The chain turning here is BPC-157, built from its published structure (PubChem CID 9941957).

The Research Guide

Cellular Signaling Peptides: A Research Guide

Cellular Signaling is the Forbidden Labs field for peptides studied in cell signaling, actin dynamics, copper coordination chemistry and extracellular-matrix biology, led by BPC-157 (5 MG), TB-500 (5 MG) and GHK-Cu (10 MG). Every vial is made in the USA, shipped the same day, and sold for laboratory research use only, not for human or animal consumption.

What Researchers Study In This Field

Research in this area looks at how cells receive and pass on signals: how peptide ligands bind receptors, how kinases relay the signal, how the actin cytoskeleton reorganises and how cultured cells change which genes they express.

The compounds in this field are tools for that work in vitro and in animal models, and every product page lists its research area.

BPC-157

BPC-157 is a synthetic 15-amino-acid peptide with the sequence GEPPPGKPADDAGLV. In vitro and animal-model studies use it to examine growth-factor receptor signaling, nitric oxide pathway activity and cell migration. Each vial holds 5 MG.

TB-500

TB-500 is a synthetic peptide derived from the actin-binding region of thymosin beta-4. It is used to study G-actin binding, actin polymerization and cell migration in cultured cells. Each vial holds 5 MG.

GHK-Cu

GHK-Cu is the copper(II) complex of the tripeptide glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine. It is used to study copper coordination chemistry, extracellular-matrix protein signaling and gene-expression changes in cultured cells. Each vial holds 10 MG, and the compound also appears in the Mitochondrial Biology field.

How The Compounds Differ

BPC-157 is studied most in growth-factor receptor signaling. TB-500, a thymosin beta-4 fragment, is studied in actin dynamics. GHK-Cu, a copper-binding tripeptide, is studied in coordination chemistry and extracellular-matrix signaling. Together they cover receptor signaling, the cytoskeleton and gene expression.

Handling And Storage

Store every vial refrigerated at 2 to 8°C (36 to 46°F), away from light, and leave it sealed until it is needed. The storage range is printed on every label, and our storage guide covers the rest.

For Research Use Only

Every compound in this field is for laboratory research use only, not for human or animal consumption.
