The Science

How Receptor Agonism Works

Receptor pharmacology measures how a molecule binds a receptor and what the receptor does next. Researchers pick a compound by the receptor and the step they want to study. For laboratory research use only, not for human or animal consumption.

  1. 01

    Binding

An agonist binds the orthosteric site of its receptor. Binding assays report how tightly it binds as an affinity constant.

    Studied here: Retatrutide

  2. 02

    Activation

GIP, GLP-1 and glucagon receptors are class B G protein-coupled receptors. Agonist binding shifts each into an active shape that couples to the Gs protein.

    Studied here: Retatrutide

  3. 03

    Second Messengers

Active Gs stimulates adenylyl cyclase, and cAMP rises inside the cell. cAMP assays are the standard readout for these receptors.

  4. 04

    Kinase Readout

Further downstream, kinases such as AMPK change activity. Mitochondrial-derived peptides are studied for how they act at this kinase layer.

    Studied here: MOTS-C

Three Receptors, One Research Molecule

Retatrutide is a single synthetic peptide that acts as an agonist at three receptors: GIP, GLP-1 and glucagon. That makes it a tool for comparing how one ligand binds and signals across three related receptor classes. Made in the USA, 10 MG per vial, shipped the same day.

The Research Guide

Receptor Pharmacology Peptides: A Research Guide

Receptor Pharmacology is the Forbidden Labs field for compounds studied in receptor binding, multi-receptor agonism and peptide signaling: Retatrutide (10 MG), MOTS-C (10 MG) and our proprietary KLOW and KLOW AM (10 MG each). Every vial is made in the USA, shipped the same day, and sold for laboratory research use only, not for human or animal consumption.

What Researchers Study In This Field

Receptor pharmacology asks how a ligand binds its receptor, how strongly it activates it and which signals follow. Work in this field uses cell lines that express a single receptor, binding assays and cAMP readouts, alongside animal models.

The compounds in this field are tools for that work, and every product page lists its research area.

Retatrutide

Retatrutide is a synthetic peptide that acts as an agonist at the GIP, GLP-1 and glucagon receptors, studied in multi-receptor pharmacology. Each vial holds 10 MG.

MOTS-C

MOTS-C is a 16-amino-acid peptide encoded in mitochondrial DNA, studied in mitochondrial-nuclear signaling and AMPK pathway activity in laboratory models. Each vial holds 10 MG, and the compound also appears in the Mitochondrial Biology field.

KLOW And KLOW AM

KLOW and KLOW AM are proprietary Forbidden Labs research formulations, 10 MG each. Their full ingredient profiles are published once every active and its amount is confirmed.

How The Compounds Differ

Retatrutide works at the receptor level, across three receptors at once. MOTS-C is studied inside the cell, at the kinase layer. KLOW and KLOW AM are our own formulations, described once their formulas are confirmed. Together they cover the receptor and the signaling inside the cell.

Handling And Storage

Store every vial refrigerated at 2 to 8°C (36 to 46°F), away from light, and leave it sealed until it is needed. The storage range is printed on every label, and our storage guide covers the rest.

For Research Use Only

Every compound in this field is for laboratory research use only, not for human or animal consumption.
